3600 mile trip
Took my 2016 f150 3.5 eco 3.31 with 2500 miles on it on vacation put 3600 on . Before leaving set the tires at 38 front and 36 back , truck coasted much better then it did when set at 33 front and 31 back from factory . 1300 miles down stared at 23 mph at highway speed ( 55 to 75 )about half way down ran into a horrible head wind it actually blew a semi off the road took the millage down to 17.8 and averaged just under 20 for the first 1300 . driving around put on 1000 mile it averaged 23.2 . on the way back I was getting 23 hit another head wind and ended up at 21.7 . the truck for the whole trip got 21.8 . Was overall 1.8 mpg better then my 2014 5.0 3.55 on same trip only to Fl.

yea, I've been having to use the truck the past 3 weeks while my DD gets fixed, timing chain snafu's. I commute 160 miles RT each day, so the miles have been racking up unfortunately. Surprisingly, the mpg has been pretty good. Over the 3 weeks I'm averaging 23.7, with most of the driving on the hiway cruising at 67/68 mph.

Apologies for hijacking this thread. But I also just completed a long road trip, from central Nevada to Kansas City and return.
First stop for fuel was in Brigham City, Utah. 75 degrees in town but snow capped mountains all around.
Driving up US 89 from Brigham City to Logan, Utah.
At the Bear Lake Summit (elevation 7,810 feet) viewpoint:
Pulled into Lander, Wyoming on a clear, cold evening. Woke up the next morning to 8" of snow on the truck and still pouring down. All roads out of town except one - US287 to Muddy Gap - were closed due to blizzard conditions.
The next 60 miles or so were not much fun. Very difficult to make out the roadway due to blowing and drifting snow. 4x4 all the way until the elevation finally dropped to where the snow was not sticking. From Muddy Gap I headed east on Wyoming 220 through Devil's Gate toward Casper. Stopped at the Independence Rock historical site rest area. When I was last here some 40 years ago there was no rest area; I wanted to take photos of some of the inscriptions on the rock but due to high winds and blowing snow decided I'd come back another time - my camera was not weatherproof.
On the way back I took US 50 across Kansas and Colorado - I wanted to check out Dodge City, Kansas. But I found that so disappointing I didn't take even one photo. The next morning I went up over Monarch Pass - and just grinned at how that little engine in the F150 handled the altitude. Didn't feel like there was any power loss at all. The tranny stayed in 6th unless I had to slow down for sharp curves. Last time I was here many years ago on a motorcycle it felt like I'd lost half my horsepower once I'd gotten above 10,000 feet.
The truck performed superbly the whole trip - made the whole thing a pleasure. Here's a screen shot of my mileage log. Not bad considering that across Nevada, Wyoming and Utah I had the cruise set at 82 mph (speed limit is 80 in Wyoming and Utah, 75 in Nevada). Check out what I had to pay for fuel in Lusk, Wyoming (only service station in town!). Per the truck's odometer total trip length was 3,262 miles.

A N/A engine loses about 3% of it's horsepower for every 1,000 feet in altitude. A turbo loses virtually none. The 5L is great for lower elevations, but for someone who travels through the mountains frequently, the Ecoboost is a no-brainer.
