Love this Quote from the article....
Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to avoid losing your tailgate if you follow the NICB’s tips. If your truck has a lock, lock it. (Duh) If it doesn’t, get one.

Sure is, and it will stop the casual thief. However the McGard has a keyed access screw that requires their special tool to remove. It will stop serious thieves.

Much less of an issue for the '15+ trucks because they lock automatically with the doors. I wouldn't buy one unless you frequently leave the gate open or unlocked.

I'm pretty good about locking things up when done with them, but all it takes is one senior moment and oop's. That's why I put one of the McGards on a month ago. Better safe than sorry.

Buddy of mine had a Chevy Avalanche and his tailgate got stolen. What did he do? He paid some guys to steal one for him. Scumbag Chevy owners.... Its the circle of life.

If i lived where i had to worry about my tailgate getting stolen I would move to a better part of town or drive a POS that nobody wanted to steal.

Reminds me of my Army days with HMMWV bumpers. Only we took the time to figure out who stole ours and stole it back.
