I really need some help I have spent hours looking up and down this site and Google ingeneral. I just replaced my blend door and heater core on my 1999 ford f150. The blower blows the speed changes the blend door actuator rotates but I still have no air blowing in my vent. Any Ideas would be great spent many hours trobleshooting.
the blend door is electric and variable position for temp control........ there are 3-4 different vacuum pistons that move OPEN- CLOSE to direct the air to your feet, dash, defrost or a combination of them.. If you loose vacuum, it gets stuck on defrost... if you can change directions of the air, but only loose the vents, then you could have a bad vacuum cylinder, plugged hose, or control **** port bad inside... look at the print below to see the vacuum cylinders.
As far as I can tell all my vacuum lines are good. I started my truck this morning heard a clink clank noose like the vacuum moved a door and it started to blow some air through all vents on max ac. I'm wondering if something is causing the doors to not open all the way is there a way to access them?
they are various locations behind the dash.. you can "see" a couple by laying on the floor and looing up toward the radio. Might be able to get access by removing radio and dash in that area...... It is MORE COMMON to have loss of vacuum due to leaking hoses under the hood, or on the back of the control ****, or inside the controller itself ( leaking between ports) ............ doors are the LAST think to consider.. check vacuum.

I really appreciate all the information, I found my problem inside my dash next to the black box holding the blend door and heater core. It was the vent right above the blower motor it had broken and caused a vacuum so no air could come out. I thank you for all the information it allowed me to learn more about my truck!
