Does anyone have a good way to remove the floor bolts from a flareside? Trying to re-do my bed and all the bolts in the wooden floor just spin.
Grab the head with a pair of vise grips and use an impact on the nuts below while someone is holding the vise grips. If that don't work use a hot wrench
Normally I tack weld the heads to the bed, then cut them free when the nuts are off. In your case you could weld on a longer piece of metal that would wedge against the bed side.
...or grind the heads off and punch 'em down through. That way you're doing all your work from above...no dirt in your face. We're a destructive bunch 'eh?
