Soak those bolts with penetrant beforehand. The big problem is if the bolt turns in the hole. Then you better off cutting them off. Or, just cut them off anyway. New bolts are cheap!
I’m having my bed blasted. I have my own pot blaster, but, it would take me forever! Seems I’m losing my patience the older I get!LOL
Yes I planned on getting new bolts. But what do I need to do for undoing the wiring? Thanks
You’ll just have to remove the sockets from the lights, then remove the sockets and wiring together. I don’t think there is a plug that separates them from the main loom.
There should be plugs together you can unplug about a few feet in front of the rear bumper. Where the wiring is following the left frame rail. But this is where PO's always butcher when they were tapping in trailer wires. Lawd knows if they are still there.

OK good to know. That's kind of what I was wondering and was going to look for. Fortunately I don't have a trailer hitch and I don't think it's ever had one so maybe still all good. I will check soon, getting all my stuff together to do the job. Probably try to use a cherry picker to pull the bed off. Thanks for the reply Jeff
Ok guys and gals. Just thought I would post a little update. Finally got the bed off and power washed the underside as well as I could. Power washed the frame and coated it with eastwood rust encapsulator, Coated the underside of the bed with rustoleum undercoating. The truck was originally undercoated with some heavy duty stuff so I just scraped off the flaky stuff and left the stuff that was still on there good and undercoated over it. Then I put the bed back on and took it to have it blasted the other day and it now has a good coat of primer on it. Now the truck will be off to get painted soon! Well as soon as I get all the trim and stuff off the cab now.
i wish that the bed on my 67 f100 had looked that good when i got it. from the wheel tubs to the front end of the bed was just gone . i could look over the side of the bed and see the ground. no metal all of the way across.
Yeah this was a southern truck all it's life and so I'm trying to save and preserve it the best that I can. It's a lot of work though, but I guess it could always be worse.
Looking good so far. Whomever is going to paint it are they going to fix up those bedside seams?
Yeah that's the plan. I had the blaster guy run down them and clean them up some which is not in the pictures. The drivers side is the problem. Passenger side is good. Then obviously I primered them, and undercoated the seam from underneath as well as I could. I'm assuming that some new seam sealer will be good enough before paint. Not sure what else to do other than weld it and I don't think I want to do that.

It's your rig so do as you wish. I personally would have the welded and smoothed. Looks so much better. Example is Randle's rig.
