Valve stem seal update @495k
Mentioned about the puff of blue smoke after startup. Got fed up with looking at it puff. I'm on my second replacement pass head, but driver side head is original. Pulled intake manifold and valve cover. Was able to use thread/ claw type compact valve spring compressor, and with spark plug adaptor to air compressor to keep valves closed Went ok, though last one near the firewall was tight but doable. Used harbor freight valve stem kit. Valve stem Seal springs were off the seals and the seal itself was very brittle . Used victor reinz seals. Was able to reuse victor reinz valve cover gasket. Smoke gone after repair. I do change oil every 5k with Walmart 20/50w. Oil changes are the key to long life.

All the engine gaskets and hoses in these Aeros get cooked in the engine bay. Used to do lots of traveling with mine in the summer to hot states. Even the fiberglass hood got so hot, could not put my hand on it to lift it.
I can imagine what my VS seals are like, rocks. Still little to no oil use, less than a qt between oil changes. Went the other way now in cold country here, 5w20 year around. Much better cold start oil pressures. Used to run the 10w40 even 50 weights when I was towing the travel trailer.
