If you follow the small hose from the bottom of the throttle body down to the canister, the purge solenoid is the round solenoid and the flow sensor is the small black box locate dnear the purge solenoid. It's best to replace them as a pair.
Hi, on my 96 which is probably similar to your 97 the evap canister is under the right front fender. It is easy to reach from below. Again as said before, follow the vacuum line to it. If you google it, there are some very helpful videos on Youtube. The hose that goes between the canister and the purge valve is unique being larger on one end than the other. Try not to damage it.
