Hi all. I'm on about my 6th E250 van. It's a 2011 and it seems the back and cargo door hinge pins are better than my last. Now it's the drivers side door and a new one to me.
Three times now the center of the door has been hanging up on the front fender after you open the door about an inch. When I say hanging up I mean it's gotten to the point where I had to use a flat bar to pry the door away a bit to fully open it. It was fine for about a week and it hung up again a few days ago. The door is not sprung and has never gotten away from me in wind etc. It works and latches and lines up perfectly when it is working properly. The bolts on the hinges look tight and the door seams match the drivers side and opens and closes with ease in between those bouts with hanging up.
I'm just curious if it's something with the hinge pins or those nylon(?) bushings falling apart/wearing. I remember an older E250 cargo and rear door bushings got so tight you could barely open or close the door.
Might be worth loosing up the front fender screws, and shifting the front fender forward a little????
Thanks. I took it in today to have a pinion seal replaced and they suggested the same thing. I saw they must have ate a drive shaft for some reason cause when I got home and looked underneath it was new and I was not billed for it.
