Alright, I did a lot of stuff over the past couple weeks including all new axle shafts because of a destroyed bearing. The original plan was only to do the fuel pumps on the truck. Now that I finally have it running again I filled up the front tank (I only replaced one pump until I could verify that the new one was good) and now with the new one running it leaks fuel. I can hear a hissing and it appears to be leaking from the top of the tank. Only leaks when the pump is running so it's not a leaking tank. My guess is I strained one of the fuel lines when removing/installing the tank and it is now leaking.
I can;t find anyone supplying the braided line with the spring connectors and that is presumably what is leaking. Any suggestions?
I'll be partially dropping the tank tomorrow to get a better look, hopefully I won't have to take it all the way off the straps because I did just fill it to prime the new pump.
You might think about unbolting the bed and using some wood to support it out of the way. That way you can leave the fuel system hooked up and figure out where the leak is for sure. Never done it on a f-series but worked fine on a ranger and two 1/2 ton Chevys. Helps to have a friend for the lifting.
