slams into gear when stopping

slams into gear when stopping

This is occurring on my 95 Bronco. Last week I had to have the T-case replaced because it finally gave up, giving me horrible vibrations. I had thought the slam into gear was due to the T-case, however, with a new (well, new to me, from a junkyard but checked by a tranny shop first) T-case in, I still had the jolt when coming to a stop. I haven't taken it on the highway to see if the other symptoms are still there, but what could cause this? There doesn't seem to be any shifting trouble, no other hard shifts, it will just bang into gear when I come to a full stop.

My 1982 Bronco does the same thing when shifting down from 2nd to 1st usually more noticable when cold, i'v been told it is probably the planetary gear in the auto trans.
If i keep torque (or revs up) as it changes down, there is no bang.
