I am constantly jumping out of the truck while it is running and the truck is telling me about it with the double honking!! How does 1 disabled this? It driving me nuts..

Has to be done with programming and cannot be done with any settings in the truck. Most guys are using ForScan. I am not sure if dealers can modify this or not.

Ok. I just ordered the bluetooth module and downloaded the app .. next week I should have it fixed.

 

I was being nice, on most forums they'd almost crucify you for such a redundant question w out searching first.

Yep....Top Speed is correct. Especially as long as these trucks have been out and TONZ of discussion on them. There are some bears on here....and if you poke the bear.....LOL. By the way...Double honk is one of the top players on the "Hate this about the 2017"....

 

Contact Ford and make give feed back. That way maybe they will make a legit fix. Or contact on Twitter of facebook

 

The dealer can't do it.

FORSCAN is the only solution.

 

I hear some dealers are saying they can't do this because it's a safety option that is not supposed to be disabled. So they are following Fords rules.

This drives me nuts with my 150 and I definitely want this removed from my 250

 

Oh how I also hate that dang thing honking in my ear but after 10,000 miles now on my F450 and this being the best truck I have ever owned thus far with not one glitch I am not willing to mess with the programming at this point. Once they come out with a custom air horn system for the 450 I will install it and likely unhook the truck's horn.

 

My concern with the double honk is having it happen in a nice quiet campground as I am backing into my spot. I usually hop out a couple of times to see how things are going. I am considering putting a relay in the horn wire and then controlling the relay with an upfitter switch. I'm sure there will be times when I forget to turn it back on right away but hopefully I can live with that.
