I was scrolling through FB and saw that fitech had posted this so I had to read because even though I am a hardcore Carburetor guy I wouldn't mind going this route and I have email fitech tech support directly before this article happened the tech person had told me that maybe the fitech would be to much for my 300 six. But after reading this it has brought hope again.
I skimmed over the article and studied the pics.
Its beyond me how they could have progressed so far into that project (Chevy 261) truck before they discovered the aftermarket intake manifold they were using did not even fit that engine and would not seal up. It did not give me a warm-and-fuzzy feeling about the competence of their engine building expertise.
Some of these efi units aperantly go bonkers on some dual port intakes as well. If you put one on a 300 I wouldn't chance it and just go with a offenhause C or a Clifford.

That would make sense. The DP is designed to differentiate between primaries and secondaries, something an EFI unit would know nothing about. They're just four injectors. On top of that, the two passageways through the DP are different sizes for different air speed velocities. There's no wonder it freaks out.
I would definitely go with an open plenum no matter what if I went with an EFI unit.
1200 Fitech on a single plane divided intake 3.8 v6, no issues 11.09@122 1/4 mile.
1200 Fitech on my dual plane stock 460 divided no issues, turbo soon.
Idled slightly better with open spacer, but pickup noticeable tq around 3000 with 4 hole spacer, keeping left and right banks separated.
300 dual port will work, but won't see any benefits over a C intake because the Fitech has a 1:1 ratio with the primary and secondary butterflies (they open simultaneously) and also sprays fuel on a rotation through all 4 venturis.
Go with an Offy C or the like. Make sure you have some intake heat, the same amount you have for a carb depending on climate.
