At the end of the day - is it worth it? Rather than ordering the truck with it in the first place?
This probably falls into a similar category as the LED light upgrade. Even if you order a truck, if you don't get at least a crew cab Lariat AND add the ultimate package, you can't get LED lights or adaptive cruise.
So if you have a Lariat value, you have the 8" dash screen needed for the OP's upgrade, but to get AC from the factory, you need drop close to $5,000 on moonroof, nav, etc for the privilege of adding Adaptive Cruise. From that standpoint, the hassle of adding it after the fact might be more attractive.
Yes see the above photos are from my install.
Everything works as it would from factory
Das,
What Trim level truck do you have? I have a lariat Value and was wanting to add this to mine as well. Do you have a complete parts list of needed items? Harnesses? Thank you.
Well the programming part is whats holding this up to be done by yourself IDS is needed. No ford dealer will shoot another vin to your pcm to make the components talk to everything. This isn't like the f150 trucks you don't have to program the pcm with those. There is one program line in the pcm that is needing a line change for allowing adaptive cruise to work correctly. And until then its not something a ford dealer is going to do.
And I would have to say you would need adaptive steering and lane keeping for this to work correctly on your truck.

I do have adaptive steering but not lane keeping but apparently I have the camera/sensor in the back of rear view mirror
Has any additional progress been made on this? Can we get the parts list? I have a Lariat Value coming. Under no circumstances was I going to get a leaky moon roof in Houston and it cost me the ability to get pushbutton start and adaptive cruise. GRRRR.

Not to belabor the topic, but you imply trucks with the moonroof automatically suffer leaks. It simply isn't true...most do not. Even those in areas of heavy rain. I've had my truck since October 4, 2016...been through a harsh NH winter and heavy, heavy rains this spring (rained almost every other day for a month); many car washes...never has my moonroof leaked.
The moonroof is one of my favorite features to this vehicle. It changes the interior riding experience more than any other feature or amenity.

I didn't mean to imply that all moon roofs leak. I'm just not a fan. No accounting for taste right. It just baffles me that Ford would tie two small but very useful options (PB start and Adaptive Cruise) to a $4000 option that some or many won't want.

I'm with Pwrgeek on this. I have a Lariat Value F250. Didn't want the sunroof but did want adaptive cruise and pushbutton start. No dice. I gladly paid for other features I wanted, but refused to pay so much for something I didn't want to get what I did....
Other options are stand alone, don't know why the adaptive cruise couldn't be.
