Hi there,
I am needing help with with an engine swap in my 1961 F-250. It has the original transmission and is four wheel drive. Originally had a 223 inline six which I found through running the VIN. I'm wanting to put a 360 FE in it that I have had for years. Not worried about motor mounts that can be fabricated. My biggest question is will the 360 bolt up to the bell housing of as it sits? I keep the truck at a friend's house and work like crazy so I haven't had time to have a good look. Just wondering if anyone has done this or if I need to convert and what would that take? Thank you!

Please ask questions in the 1961/66 F100 and larger truck forum. This forum is only for introducing yourself.
Welcome to FTE.

Wrong forum.

But no, the FE won't bolt up the six bell, nor will you find an FE stick bell that will bolt up to your (probably) T98 transmission.

Find a bell and trans from an FE and transplant the whole thing.

If your TC is married, check the adapter and make sure it will marry. Be sure to get a 4x4 trans. If you can, get the whole mess, bell, trans, TC.

Good luck.

Sorry about the wrong forum. Thank you for for the response though!
