Ok I have a 1997 Crew Cab 4x4 with the 5 speed. The driver's side exhaust manifold is cracked. The truck currently has some home made dual exhaust pipes. I want headers and a single exhaust. Who makes the best stuff? It looks like Banks makes a system, but I'm sure I want to spent $1883.
I looked at L&L headers but I would need to make a Y pipe. Plus they have so many options.
I installed the complete Banks system 20 years ago or so. It now has well over 100,000 miles on it with NO issues. Mileage went up to 15 or so pulling my loaded gooseneck. They are a class outfit and well worth the money. There's no other system out there that will go that mileage. Mileage didn't change much running empty, it's when loaded pulling weight that you will notice the change. Awesome note to it too.
Banks, hands down. I have had my system for......16 years now. No problems what so ever. Just do yourself a favor and throw the bolts they give you to bolt them to the heads in the scrap pile and buy some stainless ones from stage 8

I dont believe L&L makes them any more, The last I heard they were having issues with the nickel plating.
Don't get me wrong I have a set of their headers on my pulling truck and they are really nice pieces
True no more chrome headers but they still make the high heat black header. They make three different ones for fuel injected 7.5s
1) one tat runs inside the frame
2) one out side the frame
3) one that says you need to have a min 6" lift (I have 8")
