I did EXTENSIVE research into getting the powerpack system for my 97 460. I ended up not getting due to cost constraints mostly. The RAM air setup that they offer is a JOKE. It is not TRUE ram air, it is just thier terminology for a new airfilter and air box cover. You are better off removing the whole thing and slapping a K&N right on the end. Thats what I did, then I got a set of Gibson Tri-Y headers, a flowmaster SIDO exhaust and had a local shop bend all the pipes. All in all it ran me about $750. If I remember the Banks kit was like $2200. :-(

How did the Gibsons fit?
I'm considering a set for my '96 F-250 460. The price of the Banks headers, nice as they might be, is a bit hard to take. They quoted me around $1,000, just for the headers- I've already got a cat-back 3" Flowmaster.

Can you describe the difference in performance and any gas mileage change with the Gibsons??

I LOVE the gibsons. They were a dream to to install. I have installed headers before, and these were easy! The hardest part wes removing a bolt I broke off in the block . That Sucked. The air injection rails were easy to get to mate up and the gaskets are top notch and haven't leaked at all in 20k miles. The performance gainis hard to judge. I did a custon K&N FIPK on my own and that really snapped up throttle response. The Gibson's did however give me ALOT more low end torque, could tell that right away on the highway when towing my Ranger to the mud. The rest of the RPM band didn't seen to change much, there was a surge in power around the 3500 mark that isn't there with the Gibson's. I think they may have flattened the power curve out in that area. They are like triple chrome plated or something, mine are a really cool shade of blue/gold now though from the heat. The O2 sensor and alignment with the rest of the exhaust system was perfect though. Top notch. They will definately be the manufacturer I buy headers again from!
