tailgate opening damper
Hey all,
My 2017 SD didn't come with a "soft" open tailgate and I was wanting to install the shock and hinge. I found this video but it is for a 2015 F-150. does anyone have any info on this? I wonder if this is the same part number for the F-250.

super easy I installed mine in about 20 min. as well. Just have an extra hand to help you when you re-install the tailgate. Works really well. Price came down some I paid $75 on Ebay 2 months ago.

My price was $57.75 with AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake, Damper Assembly | Genuine Ford | HC3Z-99406A10-A : AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake | Parts & Accessories They were real reasonable with shipping cost as well, $9.43 and I also got a set of door scuffs.

Hackenbush gave the right part # only took @ 20 minutes to install and did not have to take the tail gate all the way off. Happened to have a couple of totes that were the same height as the bumper so put a pad on the bumper and totes and laid the tailgate on them. That way it was a one person job. $57.75 at my local Dealer Gus Johnson. My wife really likes it as she nearly threw out her shoulder opening the tailgate before due to it's height.
