I used to have a 66 D200 that looked a lot like that one, but it had a step side. And again, like I said, it was a D200 (3/4T). The power train was a 225 slant six and a torque flight automatic transmission. Great, tough wood truck, but the short step side bed was limiting on room so I put side boards on her. Because she was a 3/4 ton the weight wasn't much of an issue, with regards to the suspension. However, the left side of the bed eventually gave way to the weight of a lengthily load of 12 foot poles, stacked to the top of the side boards up over the cab and split out the base of the side of the bed, which fell off to the left with the poles. I tied the bed to the other side with ropes, reloaded and continued on home, then sold that truck cheap and bought a 64 Ford F602 with a 300 straight six cal engine, 4 speed trans and a split axle with a 12 foot flat bed. The bed was actually and old side of a rail car sitting on 4x4 wood posts, LOL. That was a great truck too. The old Dodge still brings back many great memories for me, however.
Are you sure that's a 1960 MY? I thought those headlights (that look kinda like hubcaps) were the later model, maybe 65 and 66. Maybe someone changed out the front grill???
Welp, picked up a new truck yesterday.....couldnt pass it up, even being a blue mopar. Does this mean I am out?!
That's a beaut! Especially considering that it's in its 6th decade. I'd say that you can still be a Ford Truck Enthusiast, but now you are also a "collector".
Yeah, I like that, he is a collector. Me personally, I don't like the 60's style Dodge trucks. I didn't like their style until 73. Maybe because that is what they used on the Emergency TV show back when I was in high school. My favorite though was the 77 since it was unique among the 70's style.
Had my Yeti rambler full of coffee and went out to hide Easter Eggs for our Annual Lion's Club Easter Egg Hunt. Finished hiding the eggs by 8:30, blew the start horn at 9:00 and had everything packed up by 9:15.
Lots of eggs and kids, but not like I remember when we would be doing between 20 and 30 CASES of eggs.
Now to find the living room and garage and get ready for next weekend's trip with the Boy Scouts.
We've gotten roughly a 1/4 inch of rain for each of the last few days. Things are _very_ wet out there this morning, and we were in the clouds until about 30 minutes ago. Humidity is still 100%, but we can now see across the canyon.
The last forecast I saw said that we would have rain today, tomorrow, and probably Wednesday. Warm and dry after that.
Doesn't look like it is raining right now, but the ground is wet so it rained sometime last night. Have not checked weather report to see if more is on the way or not. Doesn't matter, I have no plans to go anywhere today anyway.
Had a shooting here in Fresno yesterday, 3 dead, well four if you count the security officer a week ago from the same gunman, but it was nowhere near me, and I did not even find out about it until after 5pm. Happened in downtown Fresno near the HUD office judging by the description in the blurb I read about it online.
