Hot tub drained, cleaned and refilled. Got the boat out, checked the fluids and got her running and cleaned up. I also cleaned out the gutters and did some weed removal in the flower beds. Very productive day!!!
Sometimes that's the best thing to do Chief. Poured one footing on Friday, pressure washed the deck, and house, and cut grass Saturday. Stripped forms yesterday evening, and formed the other side for the footing today. I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow to get some rest.
no rest for the wicked!
Sat was at work till noon, then to Alpharetta for the block from craigslist
well that was tiring, a full engine in a barn surrounded by grass. and its just my old gimpy *** and the puny son of the block owner. needless to say that block kicked my butt!
then drove home and striped it for the machinist
Sunday - Walmart (undercoating) then MIL for Easter with kids
then by 130 was out at the shop fabricating a new back edge for the bed and finishing the fabrication on all the repair panels so I just have to weld now!
got a call from the machinist. said the heads are great almost virgin
said the block isn't done its tests but so far so good! he's calling me first thing sat morning to tell me how the rest went and if I got a good block here's hoping!
Hey folks I am back, I know its been a while but house projects and trying to trim down for summer has me a way from the computer more. :P
In other new my truck is running!!! everything is plumbed, I just need someone that can weld aluminum to make a custom fan shroud with a kit I bought. Sounds good but its LOUD. New engine is running cool with 60 psi oil pressure vs 0-15 with the old block. Hooray
Congrats on getting the motor done man!
I'm jealous because I just found out for my machinist that the second block I gave him his crap
Now I can't find the damn block to save my life
Honestly man it's a base engine crate from Blueprint engine. It came out better costwise for a bored and stroked block with a warranty then to go through a machine shop. Now I have had to go to the parts store so many times the guys gave me a nickname. loco. However, thankful my wife doesn't get jealous on how much I spend time with the beast.
I'm waaaaaaay to ocd and **** retentive to just get a crate.
I want all the numbers and specs to be within my crazy limits so its off to Cleveland TN to get another. with luck its better, the guys a mechanic so hopefully he kept it in decent condition
although on a positive note he said the bore was still standard so I got meat to work with
my part store had a nickname for me too
Mr. drysdale - I nickel and dime them to death. but I try to only but things once
not working out so far on the blocks lol
its ok I have mucho other work on big red to do
