Eco to 5.0

I'm thinking of of selling or trading in my 2013 ecoboost for a 5.0. My reasoning is that I don't tow anything anymore and I miss the sound of a V8(haven't heard an exhaust system on an ecoboost that I've liked). I love everything else about it; wish I could just swap motors......

Curious as to who has made the switch and why? Any regrets?

The V6 just doesn't seem to produce a decent sound, well to me anyways. Two trucks ago I had a 2001 F150 Super Cab, with the 4.2 V6. I actually had 3 different mufflers put on trying to get some tone, and ending up just going with the closest thing that I could find.
Now I have the 5.0 Coyote, and even bone stock, when it's kicked in the butt, there's a really nice sound coming from under the hood. Since then I've removed the factory muffler, and resonator, and added a Flowmaster Series 70, 1 in, and 2 out, and I love the deep tone it's producing, specially after a few hundred miles put on it.

Check out this members exhaust. Very nice for a v6... But I hear you. Nothing is more musical to a gear head than the rumlbe of a V8. Except maybe a screaming V12...

I'm a massive fan of the ecoboost, but you are right, it just doesn't, and will never, sound like a naturally aspirated V8 that so many of us love.

Plus, that 5.0 is a great engine. If it makes you happy, make the switch.

Thanks guys, both of those exhaust systems sound great. I'd say the eco exhaust is far better than any I've heard before but it looks like I'd be looking at a pretty penny to get mine to that level so that's where dollars and sense comes into play

I think in the meantime I'm going to check out a few muffler shops to see about a resonator delete. 3" from the down pipe to the muffler....hopefully be just enough difference to make me rethink things

For the power that the EB is laying down, one would think that it would be a bit throatier but it isn't and it ain't gonna be. I sure do love mine though.
