Never should have looked
I just did a quick 'sweep' of the local dealers for 'new' 2016s for fun.
I found a 'Demo' 2016 250 CCSB King Ranch w/6.7.
For some reason I find myself wondering if I should go check it out.
The truck lists for 70,400; they are now at 58,500.
Being a demo it has around 5k, so it is a used truck.
I'm tempted and trying not to go and check out the truck.

From my experience if it hasn't been licensed it's considered new.

While the price savings is quite tempting, with 5K of demo miles on it I would be wary of how it was treated during those 5K miles.

Yes, they all claim "Executive Demo", but that could mean some yahoo in a suit who just turns the key and drives for 5k short trips and all.

I think you should be able to get it cheaper than that. The longer it sits there, the harder it will be for them to sell, especially now that it has 5k on it. I would go in aiming closer to 50k than 58k. There's been some post of unbelievable deals on 16's lately. I think I saw one of an xlt diesel for under 40k. Never hurts to haggle on it.

My goal, if I go, is for as close to 50 as possible.
I would like 25 for my trade-in, but I think that is going to be hard.

So.... my visit was as eye opening as I suspected it would be.
19 for My truck
13,833 off their truck (6715 discount, 7118 in rebates)
This makes the truck 56,577.00 from the sticker of 70,410
OTR 42,118.
I told them I need 22 for my truck and will give 55 for their truck.
We are too far apart.

Don't know details on your truck, but way to stand firm. Expect a phone call soon.

Totally agree. Stand firm and say nothing. In sales, after the exchange has finished, usually he who speaks first ... loses.

Trade in on that 2016 KR is somewhere right around 52k according to KKB, so getting it for 55k seems fair.

I believe a fair assessment of my truck is 'clean'; it has 81k miles on it, never been in an accident. I owe nothing on it.
We will see if they call or not; either way, I'm fine with it.
The deal has to be really good for me to enter into a payment.

This is always the best attitude to have when buying vehicles. Cuz we all know there is always another one. Either way, I hope things work out your way.

It isn't used until it has been titled. But I'm sure they discounted it pretty good.

I'd say with 5K on the odometer it is used, regardless of titling.

I believe most, if not all, buyers have this opinion. The dealer, and the warranty for that matter, treat the truck as new. It is truly a 'gray area' imho.
I have purchased demos in the past without issue, which is why I always consider them. The process is always the same though, and I hate the buying process for cars.
