Iv done numerous lifts on jeeos and a Dodge 2500(8" lift). I prop the truck up as high as possible and use a floor jack under the axle, jack up until the truck is just about off the jack stands and use a 2- 1" ratchet straps to hold the spring tight, then release the floor jack and the spring falls right out. As fo rthe pitman arm if you don't plan to re use it- use a grinder and cut off whell and cut it in 2 spots as close to 180* apart as possible. Care full not to get into the actual splines, but go 99% of the way and use a hammer and chisel to pop the cutoff piece out.
