I have a new 03 extended cab FX4. Love the truck, but would like to improve the hwy ride to where I dont feel every seam in the hwy. Will a simple swap-out of shocks improve this? If so, what shocks? Subsequent decrease in off road performance is ok..
Have you compared your truck to a similar truck without the FX4 package? If you like the ride on a truck without the FX4 package you could maybe use the shocks that came on them.
What do you have your tires inflated to?
Factory had my 03 Supercrew's tires aired up to 40 pounds and the tire says 35 max p.s.i. after I let out the extra 5 pounds it was very noticeable and improved.
ok.. forget it... this was all about my son's truck that he picked up last friday night... he called a while ago and he and a couple buds spent labor day scouting their duck hunting spots in the new truck.. we have had tons of rain the past 3 days and guess they really got into the mud big time... I guess the FX4 performed great in the mud and when I asked him about the ride he said " the ride has improved greatly, I guess it loosened up some"..
He is now in love with his truck and quite happy. I did tell him to check the tire pressure. case closed.
