Install & Review: ANZO G2 LED Tail lights

So to match my Spyder Headlights I bought some ANZO taillights. These have been called the G2 which I suppose stands for generation 2? It's a new design probably supposed to look like the newer F150s. I think the look goes well with the headlights.

Build quality is acceptable. The housing seems sound, but the inside is cheaper plastic. However, I don't think this will cause any problems. All of the lights are LED. The only small concern is off axis visibility for turn signals because the LEDs are recessed in individual pods. They seem to have anticipated this because there are cutouts on each "pod" towards the outer edge. I don't think this will cause much issue either. If you're using your blinker, the only cars that wouldn't obviously see it are probably going to get a love tap if you try to merge.

The fitment on the truck is very good. The tail and brake lights simply plug in where the old bulb went. The reverse bulb is retained from stock, and the plug didn't fit very well; it took some finesse getting it to seat, but once it was in, it's not going anywhere.

Also, included were some big boxes which I assume we're resistors. I wasn't expecting this, but they include sticky tape, and it was no problem mounting them behind the lights.

Was always curious how long these would work for. Generally most LED setups don't last because the resistors burn up, and I haven't seen anyone figure out how to disable the hyper flash with the LED's through the factory body control module.

I used to add resistors mainly because in my 09 i had some bleed back when i didnt have at least parking lights on.

resistors fixed that and also made my switch backs work up front. however also back in 09 you can have the ' bulb out warning ' disabled. i cant remmeber where it was at. but its under a section for those who buy trucks. bed delete- and know they will probably have LED's on a flatbed as one example.

i had bulb out warning disabled on my 13, and it works great. im using philips LEDs and it works great.

The bulb out warning is in the body module and can be disabled or activated with ForScan or Ford IDS, for reference.

Just ordered these for my truck. After getting the Spyder headlights I wanted the tail lights to match. Thankfully I've got the stock FX4 tails so they will sell easily!

Got the tail lights installed. LOVE them! I also installed LED reverse bulbs too. I didn't install the resistor boxes. If you used FORScan you can disable the bulb out warnings which allows you to run LED's without resistors.

Same! I had the FX4 tails but after getting the Spyder headlights I wanted the tail lights that matched them. I also just installed the matching third brake lamp too. Looked really out of place with the stock clear one. lol

Ya don't say.

You know, even with the chrome package, the stock taillights just don't look right on my black '09. So if you're not gonna be asking too much for them...

Projector after market lights suck. The oem are leds are fantastic, Ford is the only truck on the market with them. The oem outer leds look like diamonds glistening. Those aftermarket look like every other eBay setup.
