just thought I would share this little mod I did several months ago.
I wanted to have a light come on when I opened the door. Especially at night when I'm out at the ranch. Always afraid of stepping on something that can bite or something that is wet and mushie and very smelly like a fresh cow patty. I looked at several different LED lights that I could hook up under the truck but really wasn't happy with anything that I found. I wanted the light the to shine exactly where I was stepping out of the truck. So I came up with these. Not sure where the pics will show before or after the text. So I'll explain what I did. There is a small lip right under the door panel that is about an 1 " wide. Thise lip is right above the door sill when closed. I noticed that there was about a 1/2 inch clearence between the sill and lip when closed. So I bought these little lights. Drilled a hole in the lip and installed the light, wired to the appropriate wires and now I have a great light that shines directly under the door and illuminates the ground between me and the open door. That's a pretty nice mod. Nice work, and thanks for sharing. Your first reason for it reminds me why I put up with living in Minnesota; I really dislike venomous critters. God bless the cold and snow for keeping the creepy crawly slithery things at bay!
Great idea but like Rich I think a link would be nice, whether they are cheap lights or there are better ones out there don't matter. Your set looks good and works so a link still helps.
..I like it same lights I used to hang my rear license plate with reverse wire hooked to them
