OK you computer savvy guys, help me figure this one out?
I downloaded some .mp3 music from YOUTUBE on my laptop, went into file properties, details and typed in the Title and artist fields, saved & copied them to a new USB drive and inserted in the truck. Works fine, only a couple days later I noticed had the wrong artist on one of the songs.
So I update it properly on the laptop, save to the USB, put it back in the truck and it still has the wrong artist. So does SYNC buffer previously played music somehow and if so, how do I clear the wrong info from the buffer?
this worked. So it appears that sync caches some info from the USB stick for later use. Interesting & thanks PupnDuck.
Another question for you guys. When I play the MP3 on the computer, I do not see the album cover photo, so does not appear to be an attribute of the .mp3 file, but when it plays in the truck, there is an album cover on the screen. So does sync maintain a database of band photos or where are these pics originating from?

Metadata is stored on the id3 tag of the file. I am not saying that Sync isn't "storing" a data base of tags, but to me, it isn't likely. Depending on what version of Windows you are running, you should be able to right click on the file and go to properties to see what info is associated with that file... you should also be able to add a photo..... oops I see you did all of that. my bad
What app are you using to play that file in your PC?
In general, if you download songs from legitimate sites on the web they come with an accompanying .jpg file that contains the album artwork. The device you play it on may or may not make use of that file.
I get the music for free from YOUTUBE, so is the McDonalds of downloads I guess. When I look at file properties, there is no mention of artwork, just what I typed in as Artist and Title. On laptop, the default player on Windows is "Groove", which came with this 6mo old laptop. Everything you need to know about the Groove music app on Windows 10 | Windows Central
