I'm still around guys.Just whatever I picked up on New Years from this site is slowly screwing up my harddrive. I gotten fix discs to no avail of stopping the problem. I now no longer can even veiw videos from youtube. So I maybe gone for a bit here while I try and save stuff before getting a hard drive repaired. Can anyone tell me how to save pics to disc. I just don't seem to be able to back my pics to a disc. I'm still able to put my music onto discs. I'm trying to save what I can be for I clean the harddrive and get it all booted up with new harddrive stuff. Oh don't worry that you will get what I got from this site. My wifes laptop the same thing came up on her Wikipedia. It's a pop up selling you a antivirus protection for 2008 It says something like Superantivirus protctor2008. You say no or close the window and it starts to put a virus into your machine. So beware of this. Once you click no you cannot get it to clear or stop. So she quickly shut the computer off. This saved it. We are not the only ones that got hit by this virus that some sore antivirus seller is putting on us. If you don't buy this product well here is a virus for not doing this. Tah Tah!. It affects your defrag, and restore. Search engine. Which you can still search, but when you click on the subject you want to veiw it just directs you to another search engine I never heard of. If you use that search engine also it does the same. No longer can veiw videos from youtube or liveleak or those sorts. The screen keeps freezing up, Or shuts off. Also when you shut your computer off the right way. It goes through the motions and the unit still runs and a few hours later will restart again when you thought you turned it off. I cannot work my antivirus programs I had and also cannot get Microsoft updates. I since put a new anti virs program in to fix the problem. It works on my emails and stuff, but the computer is still slowing down. So if anyone can tell me how to save my pics while I can please let me know here. Til Later once I get my machine done. Glen, what ya wanna do is save your pics as data files. What program do you have to burn with? Have you tried antivrus software, or spyware software?

I dont know if I can email then to ya, but I do have a couple of decent programs somewhere I can try to email you if you wanna try them.

Also what web browser do you use that you cant view youtube?

 

I have windowxp. and my server is Yourlink which does my computer and tv. This ahs happened to someone at work also. He shut his computer off in time and got a fix program put in and he was able to save his stuff. I was not. The new program I put in is called Eset. I had spyware and firewalls. Somehow my firewall got turned off. PM I can still get emails. But this data thing I cannot find.

 

Glenn, how old was your 'puter? Sometimes its just as well to upgrade when this happens

 

It's only coming on 4 years. Never had any problems with it til now.

 

Also I have been keeping up regular defrag and disc cleaning and deleteing cookies. Now disc cleaning and cookie are the only thing the computer lets me clean up.

 

Ok not sure if Im understanding ya, just need a little clarification. Do you just use the windows xp media player to burn music and whatnot with....?

 

I have a Nero CD player and burner installed when i bought it 4 years ago. I'm trying to print some diagrams on ford truck scheamatics. The computer shuts off each time.

 

Ok with nero what ya wanna do, is click on cd or dvd (whatever ya wanna burn your info on) Then it should have a place to click that says "data" Then you click on burn data to cd/dvd, select what you want to burn, and burn.

Now they have had different versions on nero come out for along time now, but I believe they are all very similiar.

If that doesnt work Glen, maybe snap a screen picture of your nero and i can direct ya from there.
