I'm looking to get some tunes for my 08 F350 6.4L but getting mixed ideas. I have a sct X4 from my last truck with 5star tunes but they won't write dpf or egr tunes. Who's had tunes done for a dpf delete and later a egr? Any issues that come up with the dpf delete? Thanks
I'm just going to do it. All and I hear it a good idea to delete the thing. I have a 08 f350 drw big *** cab 8ft bed. She needs the extra. Im going to do a lil more though. I'm looking into shift kit and building up the top end

Its a three year old thread. Delete tunes no longer exist.....
I found my hole delete kit on diesel truck products website. Its was just over 1k
You still are not getting a delete file, also if by chance you get a tuner thats still supporting a delete like the old SCT units. Do not do any web updates as it will remove the delete availability permanently. Their website looks to be very outdated, H&S hasn't been around in years.
I dont know about that. I put the site out there if u get a chance look at it.http://www.dieseltruckproducts.com/
Any feed back positive or negative would be appreciated
Do some research, H&S has been out of business going on 7 years now. The EPA shut them down, you are looking at a defunct website. After the enforcement in 2019 there is jo company selling delete tunes.
Just because H&S has been out of business doesn't mean you can't still find their products. It just means that you will not have customer support from them if there are problems, so you have to weigh that as part of your decision. I bought a new mini maxx in December and it has worked fine so far, but if anything does go wrong then I will have to look to the forums for information to try to fix it myself- I was aware of that when I bought it and took that into consideration but decided it was still the best route for me. I have only changed the tune a couple of times while figuring out what I wanted out of it, and plan on leaving it alone so I can minimize the chances of something going wrong.
I used a delete pipe to remove the CAT and DPF (which I kept so I can swap them back on every year for emissions testing) and just turned off the EGR in it and it has worked well so far with no codes/lights from it. Based on things I've read about in other posts I will not use the highest tune since with the power added from it you can end up blowing a head gasket or with other problems due to the amount of power being added and the changes in fueling and such that are used to achieve it. I started out using the "easy" set of tunes, but wanted to be able to adjust the shift pattern of the transmission, so went to the "Mild" tune but am only using the medium shift points, which are firmer than stock but not hard shifts like I've heard the High option is and I use either the stock or tow tune, with low boost defueling set to 0 to minimize the black smoke- I'm not looking to "roll coal" or anything like that (I get almost none on this setting except there's a bit more when the engine is still getting up to operating temperature or when I'm towing our 15k 5th wheel, but still only get small puffs here and there). I like the way it drives/tows a lot better with the slight adjustments to the shifting and have plenty of power for what I'm using the truck for and am easy on the skinny pedal to ease into my boost rather than flooring it everywhere (but I have put the pedal down a couple of times when I wasn't towing and it really goes compared to stock, so I can see how some people give in to the power bug and turn it up more, but I have no desire to have to do extra work on it to make it reliable with more power).
I also found a full user manual that I could download for free, since mine didn't come with 1, just a smaller book that walked me through setup and such, but I wanted all of the details from the manual so I knew the options and settings. My only complaint is the size of the display- there is a reason it's named the "mini" maxx, it is small and hard to read some of the displayed information (mostly just the high/average EGT that shows below the big gauge, since that's what I have displayed on there), but the main fields it shows are ok so it works for what it is.
I just wanted to say ty to all of u guys on this for all the feedback. I used the h&s mini maxx for my 6.4 and everything seems fine.i also did dpf and I'm about to do the egr. Anyway just want to thank you all. If u have any questions or concerns please post
