It's ours!!!!!!

Now to get it home! 1941 Ford three ton!

Looking at having it professionally moved. If you guys can point me in the right direction for specs I would appreciate it. Probably will require dimensions and weight etc.

Nice truck, congratulations. Now the fun begins. I have the 1941 US specification Sales Reference Book which has a chart showing curb weights for the various truck configurations, but doubt any of the US models are as heavy duty as your Canadian 3 ton. If the 3 ton rating is no different than would apply to a US 158" wheelbase truck I'll be happy to copy and post that info. Stu

I'm looking forward to more on this truck. I've never seen a pre-48 Ford three ton truck in person.

I forget where you are Donnie. And where you are shipping to. I have done quite a bit of this and learned the hard way. My go to guy is Western Sky Haulers out of central Montana. The Russian guys are cheaper, but their brokers take a chunk and the brokers are cut throat.

I guess I should provide some more back story. This is a family truck that has been in my wife's family since the early 1950's. If all info is true and would like to do some investigating later, but this truck originally was used in the building of the Al-Can highway. The wife and I were "given" this truck last summer, however not wanting to step on any of my wife's siblings toes we took it slow, and just this week we are now the official "caretakers" of this piece of family history. The truck is located in Sask on the family farm and we live in Ontario Canada.

Our goal is to keep this truck as original as possible and get her up and running again. it will not be until we get her home and start diving into it that we will be able to get a grasp of what the restoration process is going to look like, and we can get a reasonable time line and plan ironed out. I am expecting to be broke however. LOL .

We have been told the truck is ours to do with as we please. However I have told my father in law and brother in law that I am going to keep them updated and informed on the direction this truck is going to take. My ultimate goal is to preserve family history.

Great project. Obviously a bone stock restoration to preserve the family heritage. Put together your best guesses at cost and timeline and quadruple them. Good luck. Check out Bernette's build thread.

That is fantastic, can't wait to see it home and ready for restoration. Congratulations.

This should help. All info is from my 1941 Ford of Canada salesman's handbook.

i had planned 6 years with roughly 2500 a year in parts. i did most of the work my self, except for my young helper. he was charging 12 bucks an hour. i did get away cheaper the first 4 years, but last year and this winter got me back on track. i keep track of all my work and expenses. i add them up every month. i got over 400 hours myself. i think i can still make it running next year but it gonna a be alot of work yet. i might jump the fancy inside for a later project, and bed will be another project of its own. hopefully a not to expensive one and probably a summer one!

I am going into this realistically and have gotten my ducks in a row as best I can. We have developed a couple different plans as to what we would like to do, which path we take will greatly depend on what we all find for issues. I love the thread following the work you have done on your truck. You have done some amazing work!
