Transmission Problems / Recall

OK, this may or may not be news, but I was told by the service advisor at the dealership that there is a recall for certain SD's for the transmission line problems that caused my truck to lose a transmission. Evidently there was a TSB for this condition prior to the recall also. On my truck there was no warning at all. There was no fluid on the concrete where I park or anything to alert me there was a leak. The day before I had driven about 250 miles pulling a gooseneck trailer with a fairly light load. The truck performed flawlessly right up until I shut it down for the night. The next day it would not move when put in gear. I had it towed to the dealer. There was a film of fluid from front to back on the underside of the truck and also on the front of my trailer. According to the service advisor, Ford will not authorize the replacement of the transmission so it has to be rebuilt. I purchased my truck on 11/30 so any of you guys with trucks purchased around or before that time may want to inquire about this to avoid the BS I'm into right now.

You say that you purchased your truck on 11/30 but do you know what your build date was? I think that recall was only for earlier built trucks. Mine was built on 12/2 and I didn't get the recall.

Mine was built 10/20 and I have not recieved anything yet, and the dealer won't touch it unless it leaks.

Happened to me, but I caught it early. Less than 3,000 miles on her when discovered.

Bought my truck early September.

This was a known problem, transmission cooling line was redesigned from the 2016 to the 2017 engine and flange could not seated properly.

I am not sure of the build date. I bought it from the dealer's stock on 11/30 so it had to be a few weeks prior to that.
That's what I was told when I asked them why no one inspected it or said anything about the potential for a problem when I was in on 3/01 for service. But then by the time there was a problem it was too late. Kind of perplexes me why they wouldn't want to head off a major repair with some preemptive work.

Dealerships bill Ford for warranty work or tsb's...all about numbers and profit.

Here's a generic letter I got from the dealer this morning. I haven't received anything from Ford yet, which now is a moot point. Mine is a diesel. Sorry about the low-tech upload but it's the upper limit of my technical expertise.

My truck was built 9/2016. I received my letter from Ford much like the one above yesterday, except with my actual name and VIN number. Mine has never leaked, but I guess I'll let them "fix" it so it doesn't.

At least we know what the problem is now. "fluid cooler tubes not being manufactured to the intended bend angle." Oh, oh. Someone got fired.

Mine didn't leak but once, Troverman. I park it in the same place every night and I never saw any fluid on the concrete. It must have started leaking while I was on the road. Just glad I didn't get stuck out on the road.

I just checked and it says on the Ford site that my F 350 KR Vehicle Health Report is not available for your vehicle.

What kind of rig do you need?

Shortly after I got my truck, there was a 4"X4" puddle of pinkish fluid. I cleaned it up and looked under my truck. I saw no evidence of leaking anywhere near where I found the puddle (roughly where the bed meets the cab favoring the driver's side). It's been a month since then and I haven't seen anything, so I chalked it up to it being from my old truck.

Is this evidence that I'm having this issue? It's been a month since I've seen any fluid. The issue appears to be totally gone. For what it's worth, my build date is December 9th.
