Homemade air inake ducting, ideas?

I have a 1988 F250 w/ 7.5L EFI, 4x4, C6, reg cab, long bed.

Some of my parts grew legs and walked off. See pics below for example of what I'm talking about. Thanks to NumberDummy for the diagram. Diagram part number 9B659, just the first section of ducting that connects to the filter box.

I know there are options for finding these, but my question is focused on a hypothetical worst case scenario where the parts are simply not available. What could be used as a replacement? Has anyone been-there-done-that with some redneck engineering? And I mean that in a complimentary way.
