I have a 78 f250 and building a new box out of panels for it. Ive come to my first hickup. I need the rear posts that connect the bedsides to the floor. Does anyone know what these are called or even better a link to a website to buy them?
I bought a couple from lmc when I was putting aftermarket sides on a 92-96 bed. They were not worth using and weren’t even close to matching the contour of the bedside. I had to return them they were so bad. I believe they were called tailgate posts.
I ended up keeping the tailgate post from the 92 model and drilling out all the spot welds and flattening our what was left to weld on some metal I cut with a jigsaw after tracing a cardboard model. If you’re not working off an existing bed, maybe find a junk bed and sawzall the posts out of it
Thanks guys. We ended up finding a pretty solid pair at the junkyard and cut them out of the truck. Really wanted new but atleast we know they will fit correctly. I cant believe how badly LMC quality control is if they even have any
