I just took delivery of my first ever 2017 Ford F-250 Platinum truck. What a machine. I ordered the reverse beeper and wanted to only use it when i am trailering. It is so loud, it could wake the dead. I was told by the dealer that i can turn it on and off when i want. I have looked everywhere. Does anyone know if this can be done and how? Thanks in advance for your help.
On our truck, when you put it in reverse, a screen comes up in the information screen asking if you want parking assistance on or off. I can't speak for others, but I've found it convenient. David

I think you are referring to the "Parking Assist", this is not that. It is the beeper that sounds when you put the truck into reverse, it was an accessory. It is like when a cement truck backs up. Before it moves, the beeper is going on and off rhythmically.
Crawl under and see how it's wired. If it's just wired into the reverse lights you will have to rewire it to an upfitter switch or something similar. typically the backup alarms are simple two wire setups however, on my fleet vehicles (ambulances) there is an aftermarket momentary switch that disables it upon shifting into reverse, the alarm will sound again only if the vehicle is taken out of reverse and then put back into reverse. Perhaps the dealer can offer you more specific info on your application.
It's funny I'm reading this. I picked up my new 250 yesterday and found out mine was accidently ordered with this backup alarm. I searched online but could only find answers to older super duties, nothing reference 2017.
What I learned between online and from the techs at the dealer: you can't turn it off. If you don't want it to sound the only option is to unplug it at the siren. It is located just behind the rear axle on the drivers side up against the bottom of the bed. It was easy to access and unplug. There was a post I read, from this site if I remember right, about someone running a wire to a toggle for it. Do some research, maybe it would work with our upfitters.
I've lurked on here for months. I feel bad for you and your issue given I just struggled with it yesterday so it forced me to join finally.
Maybe can stuff the element with a rag or something. The alarm isn't such a bad idea it just doesn't need to be so loud as to be audible from six blocks away.

You're correct, what I'm seeing is called "parking aid". Get the screen asking whether I want to leave it on or turn it off whenever I put our truck into reverse. Selecting Off stops that annoying tone in the cabin when hooking up to the trailer. On thing I have noticed: If I select "On" accidentally, there's no turning that tone off no matter what I do.
