The little post on the window regulator of my driver door is stripped. It is the splined post that you screw the handle/arm onto to roll the window up and down. The threads inside are stripped and most of the splines are gone on the outside too.
Anyone know if I can replace just the post? I found new ones for earlier years trucks but not a threaded one for a 1970. I hate to just buy a whole new regulator if it isn't necessary. What about a post for an earlier year regulator but then just drill and tap it for the handle? Any thoughts, suggestions? Thanks

None of those separate that I know of. That post is hardened steel as I recall. I think you would be hard pressed to drill and tap it. You could prolly use a Dent handle if you use a Dent post. I would just get a new regulator. DC has the C8TZ8123201A (Left side) for $100.00 in my 2013 catalog.

Ok sounds good. Thanks Jeff. I will just replace it.
Brian, good idea but it is mangled. I checked it out the other day to see if I could revive it.
It's Just another perfect example that if people would just take an extra minute to try and fix something correctly at first, then we wouldn't even have this thread. Instead, It just got loose along the way and someone just kept cranking and cranking on it until now it is ruined Whatever
Classicdriver last month the driver,s window regulator finally failed. i got one from D.C.$109.00 to my house. it fit like Ford had made it .some times the what we think is the cheap easy fix is not always the right way. i saw on you-tube where someone had used a variable speed battery drill on the window regulator. instant power windows.
