4X4 van swap, info needed

Have a 97 Quigley 4wd converted E250 van, gvw 7500. Has a 5.4l auto, trans code E. Getting a little rusty and beat up so I thought I'd upgrade her a little.

I found a beautiful completely rust free Texas 2001 2wd E150, gvw 7000. Has the 5.4l auto trans code U.

Switching the springs and axles look to be straight forward but my question is the trans. What would be the best way to swap. I assume the computers won't play well together, so just changing the trans won't work, e4od to 4r7w.

Should I just take the 2001 4r7w and get it converted to accept a transfer case?? How hard is this to do? I'm not a transmission guy but can fix just about everything else. Both transmissions are in great condition.

Thanks for any help or suggestions. My computer has completely gone to ***** and won't search detailed information. Unless it's ebay or amazon.

Front frame is bent. Will the new body fit?? Besides a 2001 is worth a lot more then a 97.

You'll have to have the newer van's transmission converted to 4wd.

The E-250 frame is about 2" taller (stronger) channel than the E-150 frame. This height difference also will obviously limit tire size as well which would not be great on a 4wd van.
