81 Van trans swap
I have an 81 Van with 300cu 6 and would like to swap the 4 spd (3+Overdrive) with a 5spd. I'm looking for closer ratio's than the 4spd. I don't want a granny gear. What trans would bolt in and what modifications to driveshaft ETC. would be needed

how is that 4sp.? i might be getting a '81 van for a parts truck. it has the 300 and the clark 4sp. all the tranny needs is a 2nd gear sincro. anyway, can you tell me about this tranny? how does it drive?
