...and the rest of the rear swaybar mounting:

...brought the bed and the rear fenders to the paintshop. I didn´t expect the bed is that crunchy and wavy / dented and has a lot of holes which were just bondo filled:

i guess i will buy a new one from the early ford store.

That is how the fenders look... rusty but not that bad

we will restore the fenders and paint 'em.

Hi Ingo,

sand blasting reveals even the things you don't wanna see . The bed doesn't look worth restoring but I think the fenders are worth a try.
Keep going mate!

what a drag, you spent time installing those nice tubs. things have away of snowballing though. I didn't plan on installing a rear 4 link till I found I couldn't stop looking at yours.

cut out those tubs and leave a 5/8" to 3/4" (or whatever you guys call it) lip around the arch, and epoxy it in, or spotweld / rosette welt it. i think if you go on dan carpenter's website you'll find thats how they do it. projects looking great, it helps me to get moving on mine.

we call it millimeter here.
thanks for the idea but that were my first selfmade tubs, not bad but i´ll try better ones... one fender to cut is not a big investment.

Haha, yes i´m alive and healthy :-) Don´t worry.
There were some other things to do in the meantime and yes maybe i had a little "motivational problem"

As i mentioned i bought a new bed from midwest ford, which lies on the bed of my Cabover, i´m shipping from Cincinnati. I expect it next month to be here.

In the meantime i started working on the 3rd Member. I bought an Eaton True Trac a while ago, which was designated for my ESSEX Rat Rod to exchange it for the spool in the Rod.
I wanted a 31 Spline in the Truck also so i decided to use the True Trac for my Truck and leave the Spool in the Rod, which is good for dragracing.

I´m thinking about the Ratio, i have a brandnew 3.50 Ring & Pinion Set, which i´m going to use, but maybe later i try the 2.75 which came with the Lincoln Versailles rearend....
we will see.
