I just bought a 2005 F-150 without power windows or power door locks. I was going to go and add a keyless entry system at the corner shop but then I saw that there is a red blinking light above the driverside dash board. The light looks OEM but I have no idea? All I got when I bought the car was one key. From what I read the red light is from a factory alarm but is that true? Could there be a remote to unlock the doors and I just don't have it?
since you have NO power windows, NO power locks, NO remote FOB... its not looking good...... there is a receiver box mounted above the steering column near the firewall that "receives" the signal for the remotes.. look for that, or go to FORD and ask them to look up equip on your serial number.
I was thinking about the older series of F150.... look at this and read the description.. if you have theft, you MIGHT have remotes ? .... behind the seat ?
The truck probably didn't leave the factory with that red LED on the dash. Suggest you open it up and investigate to see what the LED is attached to.
Are you certain that the truck is not equipped with power door locks? Was it a stripped down fleet vehicle with the XL trim package?
To check if RKE is available, go through the procedure for programming transmitters that is in your owner's manaul and see if the truck responds to the trigger sequence. See signature below if you do not have an owner's manual.

I would think if you had a flashing alarm light the system would be armed and the alarm would be sounding off since you have the door open. If you go to the dealer with your VIN and go to the service desk or parts counter, ask them for a build sheet. That will list everything that was installed in your particular truck.
