I was talking with a buddy who has a F150, he said he has the towing package but it does not have the feature to charge his camper battery through the pigtail connection when driving.
I have the camper package on my F250 and was wondering if it would have this feature. I tried looking it up with no luck. Ford's site only talks about the suspension upgrades.
You have it. Once you plug in your trailer and press the brake & trailer brake it will activate and start charging. When you first plug it in it will not start charging but once your on your way it kicks in.
If you want the 7 pin plug in the box, then you need the fifth wheel prep as well. Unfortunately, the camper prep package doesn't include the 7 pin trailer plug in the box. The harness for that has a part number if you wish to add after. It plugs into the tailgate, bumper plug harness.
I didn't think about this on my order. Do you have the part number for that harness and a rough guess on how much it would be? With the bed plug added, can one can still tow a trailer with the 7 pin plug in the bumper. (Plug a slide in camper into the bed plug and connect a boat or atv trailer in my case).
When our truck arrived at the dealer, they installed the plug where we needed it in the bed -- cost about $160 to have it done. They also added the airbags and Torklift tiedowns. However, it may have been easier to work with this dealer because they also sell truck campers. So when we picked up the truck, everything was done.

Learned the hard way! Hooked up for the first time and had no juice. I looked up the fuse and relay. Fuse was easy enough to find, but the relay was next to impossible. There was a reason it was hard to find. It didn't exist nor was it needed. After searching here I found my answer.
