Lift questions

So guys. I have a question that is probably asked here fairly often. I've got an '89 F150 with the twin traction beam Dana 44 front end. I've already got a 3 inch body lift, and I was planning on lifting the front end up a bit. I jumped the gun a bit (because I'm an extremely excitable child at times) and went ahead and bought some 4 inch lift coils from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. Yes I realize that's kind of high, but I figured with the factored in weight of my motor it would be level or up slightly higher in the front.

My question is this: what else do I need for the lift? I know I'll need taller shocks for this. I was mainly wondering about radius arms. Will I need to get drop brackets for them?

Radius arm drop brackets, axle beam drop brackets, shocks, and you may want to look into longer brake lines. I believe the pitman arm will still work, but you might want to look into one in case it doesn't.

Alright, thanks for the info. It's gonna be a little more of a wait for sure. I really appreciate the assistance with this because I was basically going in blind.

I am curious why you didn't just buy a complete 4" lift kit? It would have all the parts (including hardware) to do the lift and most likely be cheaper than piecemealing it together.

Well, the main reason is that I wanted the truck to sit slightly higher in the front. I've got some 2 inch blocks for the rear that I got off of my old truck, and I was basically just talked into buying the coils. It was 100% an impulse buy with no research done beforehand. Yeah, I know. Shame on me.

To each his own but personally I think that looks dumb. Why would looking like the bed is loaded down all the time be "cool"? Level I can kind of understand but squatting in the rear & pointing at the sky? I don't get it.

TTB trucks are hard enough to keep aligned with stock suspension. Once you start messing with things you are asking for trouble particularly when piecing it together.

I'm not going for the "squat stance" crap. My truck sits considerably lower in the front. Generally when people get level kits, they'll do a two inch front lift. What I'm doing is basically the same. I'm doing four front, two rear. So that SHOULD come close to leveled out. Believe me, if you ask any of my friends they'll tell you that I cannot stand the loaded bed look.
