In a nutshell: theoretically the CKs should be a better oil for our trucks, as they are supposed to be more shear stable, a good thing for 6.0s. However Ford came out and specifically stated that their testing of the new formulations showed they did not meet a Ford valve train wear test and to avoid them for all current and previous Powerstroke engines. Then they updated that statement and now have a list with which CK oils meet their wear test and therefore are approved for use.
I would play it safe and see if T6 is on the list, or choose an oil that was, or use what you have been using in CJ flavor.
I'll see if I can find one of the threads with the list link and bring it here....
Here is the list, don't know how often it is updated, but T6 was not on it at this point, note that Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme IS ON the list and is On Sale at NAPA for $17.99/gal, you just want to make sure you get the new one...
Guess I will be the guinea pig I just changed my oil with it
The ck-4 was supposed to meet the old requirement while the fa-4 was required formula for the newer vehicles. I imagine it will only be a matter of time before they get the official stamp of approval once some time passes

I just joined you today. Way I figure it,might as well switch sooner than later.
Went back and dug up old post when they were changing from CI-4 to CJ-4 funny how the conversations sound the same. Remember back then T6 was CI-4
Exactly, we are not talking about a quart of Penzoil you stab with the metal funnel from 20 plus years ago. This, for the most part IMO, is a lot of worrying for naught.
