A/C problems
I have a 2009 F150 and the A/C went out. When I tried to fill the freon I had the truck running and A/C on max. I looked at the compressor and it was not kicking on. So maybe I thought it was not turning on because my freon was completely empty and there is a safe switch to turn it off if there is no freon? So I tried to put some in and a stream of air started to come out of the right side of the radiator. Any suggestions?

There's a number of reasons/issues that could keep the compressor from coming on. Being low on freon is just one of them, and if you weren't low, you may have overcharged it and now caused a leak and venting to atmosphere.

Another thought is that you have a system leak where you saw it venting, all your freon had leaked out, and when you tried to add some, it leaked/vented out the same spot.
Unless you have some speciality tools/skills it would be best to take it to a shop.

BINGO!
You'll need to have the gross leak repaired and then have the system properly serviced for optimal results.
