Engine fit question
Thank you for a great site. I have a 2000 F150 with about 150k miles. It has smashed the valves on the drivers side, due to an unfortunate incident with the timing jumping. So Ive been looking around and found a 97 f150 with a newer motor (47k) for very cheap. The only problem is that truck is a 5 spd, and mine is an automatic. Is there any reason the motor from the 5 spd would not work with my auto? Thanks

Things to check/find out with your potential replacement engine. Was that 97' engine upgraded to PI heads?
You will probably need the flywheel off you old engine and maybe extract the pilot bushing from the crank shaft of the donor.... & maybe swap out some sensors... other than that it should bolt up.
