engine swap

I have a 97 awd 4.0 that has a blown piston. I have a chance to pick up a 91 with a 4.0 in it. Does anybody know if the engine will swap into mine? tks.

I'm sorry but I don't think you can. '97 4.0L engines have their own ECU calibration curve, and the heads are also different from ealier 4.0L models. That '91 engine would fit anything '95 and earlier. '96 is kind of iffy, but '97 is a definite no.
