I've searched and searched I can't find anyone with the same problem.
2004 f250 lariat 4x4
Everything was working as it should and then I swapped out my header panel headlights and grill to 05-07 style. My headlights don't shine as bright on dim as they should but I'm getting 14v at the bulb.
Now to the fog lights when I use the dash switch to turn them on they will only turn on with the light switch on running light mode, meaning one turn to the right on the headlight switch. Now if I go 2 turns to the right the headlights come on as they should and the fog lights will stay on as they should however if I have to turn on my high beams at any point the fog lights go off as they are supposed to but do not turn back on after going back to low beam. I have to go through the entire process over by turning the head light switch back to running lights, turn fog lights off then back on and then back to regular headlight mode.
As far as the automatic headlight mode the headlights work as they should but the fog lights won't turn on at all.
Just for future reference when it comes to something not limited to the 6.0L diesel you might want to post in the Super Duty forum. You will get a broader range of people with the Super Duty that would not be limited to the 6.0 folks that mostly hang around here.
As far as your headlights, I have searched for some retrofits myself and noticed some complaints from people about the retrofits not throwing the light as well as the stock housing or some other housings. Or the pigtail was wired incorrectly or not making good contact whether a plug or a splice of some sort.
The fog lights sound like you might have a sticking fog lamp relay since that is the only thing that determines how the fog lamps operate when the high beams are activated.
Attached is the wiring diagram for your vehicle for the fog light system.
Thanks Blade35, you saved me to have to search for that. I've been meaning to do that mod forever now, but keep forgetting to until I want to turn them on while driving!
Leo, I do not know of one, but I'm sure someone has done it. I won't need to because with my LED light bar (replacing the fogs) and brights turned on together I'll be good to go. I do know if you do the momentary pull of the lever both the brights and regular lights stay on together. So I'm sure it can be done.
The light functions change by model year but I made my own harness that keeps the lows on with the highs and a switch mod that keeps the fogs on with parking and highs.
Head light fuse blows as soon as I turn the head lights on.
If I keep the fuse out and the turn signal switch on low beam the lights are on high beam and the fogs work great. If I push the turn signal switch forward like I was going to leave the high beams on I lose my headlights all together but the dogs stay on. Luckily for my situation my high beams aren't that bright and this actually worked out great but doesn't work as it should.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here but It sounds like you have some issues you need to get worked out before you did the fog light mod doing the fog light mod wasn't going to solve your original issue. What harnesses did you use for your 05 head light swap. With harnesses that are wired right everything should work as it did before did the lights work right before you changed to the 05 lights. Did you leave enough wire on on the fog light mod to reconnect it and are you sure you used the right wire to do the mod.

I understand you're not being a jerk I appreciate your feedback
When I originally swapped out the headlights to the 05-07 style all I did was cut off the old connector and I picked up a new harness for 05-07 at oreilly's.
