Hello a couple months ago I was getting a low boost code every now and then. I have gone through the intercooler boots replaced 2 with reinforcing pleneumns and they all look good. There is a small leak on one of the up pipes but the amount of soot seems minimal. I drove about 2000 miles with no codes despite the confirmed leak. 500 of those miles with a trailer. Yesterday I changed the cylinder head oil line fittings as they seemed to be leaking. Today I went and drove 3 easy miles on warmup get back and the low boost code was there. What a difference repairing the tiny leak made to the trucks performance for only 10 bucks a fitting and 30 minutes of work. The truck is an 2002 with 215,000 miles has anyone replaced the waste gate? Almost feels like it works for a while than gets stuck or something due to the non consistent appearance of the code.
What are the recommended trouble shooting procedures for this particular engine?
I might be completely wrong, but I don't know of a "low boost" code. You may be thinking of a code related to over-boost, but if your truck is stock AND has a leak, I highly doubt you're having over-boost issues. And I don't think changing the fitting would have anything to do with your boost.

Reason: ...
The code is p1247 driven 10 miles today no more codes but I feel like it's only a matter of time. I agree the fittings probably aren't the problem just found it strange how the code went off after the replacement.
Cleaned the wastegate solenoid (plug where the red and green vacuum lines meet on the intake at the center of the engine) with some electrical cleaner and that was that. Plenty more boost right off the
