EGR problems

5 days ago I purchased a 2011 f-250 with the 6.7. Yesterday the check engine light came on. I took it to oreillys and had it scanned. It brought up the EGR valve, stating that it had insufficient exhaust flow. The truck seems to be running fine. This is the firs diesel I've ever owned and I know nothing about them. Any information provided would be appreciated. Thanks

Common problem. usually the EGR cooler that gets plugged. search the forum. Some have been able to remove and clean it, others have had it replaced. did you buy private, or from a dealer? Would be nice to get it repaired by your seller.

If you have warranty from the place you bought it take it back.

I agree with Dave, it is highly likely the EGR cooler is plugged.

Ford's fix is a new cooler, however you can take it off and clean it up.
