80-86 had smaller dashboards. 87-96 dash boards protrude a few inches more thus the beveled corner wing window. The mullion between the windows are larger in the 87-96 models so the glass is smaller. Don't know why.

The beveled vent window is only on 92-96 trucks. My son has a 95 and I have a 91 so I can easily compare those.

This could be as LMC lists the vent window frame as 87-91 only, but the seal and glass is the same 80-91. However, that flies in the face of this statement from Bill (NumberDummy):

The division bar between the door and vent glass is the same 1980/91 F100/350, Bronco & 1988/91 F(Super Duty).
It's a puzzler.

LMC's catalogs are rife with errors and omissions!

EOTZ-1021608-A Right & EOTZ-1021609-A Left .. Vent Frames / Obsolete

1980/91 F100/350 & Bronco / 1988/91 F(Super Duty).

Wow, Evan_P, that is a great pic that clearly shows the differences in the door glass. I am still confused how the vent window frames can be the same, tho, based on that pic. I guess I will just have to find a door with glass from an 80-86 truck and do a comparison.

Good to know. I have been saving doors on the old 80-86's before I pulled the parts I needed and scraped them cause I thought they were the same too.

The picture helped a lot.

I get that they are different, I just want to understand why Ford did that. What were they trying to accomplish?

You better talk to the ford engineer that designed the wider wing window post if you want to know that

So you are just ignoring Bill's post where he shows that the vent window frame is the same 1980-91?

The vent window frame is the same from 80-91 (the metal that is directly attached to the vent window glass)
The vent window changed shape in 1992 to accommodate the redesigned dash. (the glass is different as well, obviously)
The metal divider that the window track is in is wider 1987-1997.
I'll get pics if no one posted any beforehand.
I have an '89, my buddy has a 1986 and he has a set of 1995 doors in his garage. The divider on the 80-86 is super thin, similar to the 73-79. Likely changed due to issues with the power windows needing a stronger frame.

OK I guess I thought the divider was part of the frame, since they come out together. Maybe that is the missing piece for me in this saga.

The vent window frame may be the same but that is NOT the divider between the 2 windows
