Seems that there is some missing parts to my drivers window. Here is the drivers side window that dosn't work. Its power.
You see the power window motor arm isn't connected to anything. Now here is a picture of the passengers side that works, also power window of course.
Seems that I am missing that metal bracket that the window should be sitting in/on. I assume that I will have to get this part from the junk yard. But how does it connect to the window? Some kind of glue? I would rather just get the part instead of a entire window, but just in case I can't get the rail off. How do I get the window out of the door?
What you need is called a window regulator. Typically they have bolts or rivets through the glass pane or are just glued to it. To get the glass out of the door, you will have to get the "tracks" on the edges out. It's kind of hard to explain, but there should be plastic clips or wedges on the side of the window glass that hold in in the door. Once you get those out of the track, you can manipulate the glass out of the door. Anytime I have done this, I have broken the clips. A junkyard or glass company won't charge much just to pull and put in a supplied window. You're likely to have to visit them in the end anyway.
