Trans cooler

Ok y'all here's an easy one. I bought an auxiliary trans cooler with a thermostat controlled fan. Does it matter which line I cut into for the install?

Ain't easy if we don't know what cooler it is and where it's going??????? If it don't make a difference neither does it make a difference what wire you cut.

On a 2005 6.0L I suspect that an additional cooler is going to increase cooler line restriction, which will reduce cooling capacity.

How hot is it getting without this cooler?

A trans cooler should be after the factory built-in cooler in the radiator.

Hot fluid goes out the transmission, through the built-in cooler, out to the auxiliary cooler, and back to the transmission. You need to find out which line is supply, and which line is the return. Google is your friend.

I'd advise you listen to Mark when it comes to the torque shift tranny. It'll save you some money and heartache. Just sayin!

We regularly tow heavy with our 05 6.0. - 16k GVWR 5th wheel.
Transmission cooling is simply not an issue in this truck.

You're pulling a trailer that weighs 15,000 empty - and considering a boat behind that - with a 250. The first thing you need is a bigger truck.

Return it. The 5R110 has the best cooling of basically ANY automatic transmission. The cooling system for the transmission behind a 6.0L is actually used as an UPGRADE to most other trucks.
